Lake Norman

Lake Norman is a beautiful place to live.  The lake was created when Duke Power Company began construction of the Cowan Ford Dam for the generation of hydroelectric power.  Today, you'll find a variety of housing options from new luxury homes to condos to summertime mobile homes.  Lakeside restaurants are plentiful as well as shopping areas.  Sailing is a favorite pastime on Lake Norman.  This high growth area hosts LakeFest, held annually in September at Jetton Park.  The festival includes live entertainment, art, food, activities for children and a dog show.
